Project Components
There are ten (10) components you
need to include in your DLE. These are minimal requirements and you are
STRONGLY urged to provide more information for a better project.
- Introduction/Summary (Four or more sentences is ideas for your introduction)
- Graphics/Audio/Video (Four or more items is ideal. NOTE: If you plan to print your final project, do not use audio or video.)
- Organization of Information (Your idea should have a beginning, middle and end/conclusion.)
- Knowledge of Information (Use actual information from Colonial life as your basis for improvements).
- Text Elements (Text should be used to explain your graphics).
- Project Design (Suggestion: You should try to use a theme regarding your design. A theme CAN include colors, font, or overall feeling of what you want the viewer to see as your idea of Colonial life. REMEMBER: Certain colors did not exist during the Colonial time period (neon or very bright colors). These would not be good choices. Conduct a little research about Colonial colors for an AUTHENTIC feel for your design. A background would be good ONLY if you can read text placed on top of the background. Ask a parent or friend to review your design before submitting for a grade. BE CREATIVE while keeping with the Colonial time period.
- Spelling and Grammar (Use the spelling and grammar checker on your computer. For those who wish to make a printable file, type the content into a word processing program, spell and grammar check your work and then CUT AND PASTE IT into your file.
- Make it special and unique. You can work with a friend but PLEASE do not submit a twin or clone project.
- Have confidence. Please create something you would want to display on our class blog with your name attached to it.
- Use your time wisely. Please DO NOT wait until the last minute. Even the most creative and technical people CANNOT make something AMAZING in a few hours. Don't try to beat the clock. Your grade will not be what you know it can be :-)
Grading
Students will be graded by the rubric below. As mentioned, the end product should showcase the knowledge and talent of each individual student. This product will be evaluated on an individual basis and will not be compared to products of other student's for grading purposes.
